In researching advantages to blogging as a teaching tool, I found a great resource called: 11 Advantages of Using a Blog for Teaching. Some of the advantages are: learning is indepent of time and location, learning becomes self-directed, more peer-to-peer collaboration occurs and writing competencies are improved. What advantages do you see to blogging with students??
I can see how some students will not use a blog at home, only when directed at school. Others may log on at night or outside of school time as a homework assignment. A good test would be to check when and if students log in at nigth.
